90% of all campus ministries have some form of small groups

Campus ministers are finding students with less developed leadership skills and general maturity.  College is no longer a great step into adulthood, but an extension of adolescence.

Nearly 10% of all groups did not exist three years ago.

Students often hold conflicting viewpoints simultaneously.  On the one hand, they are optimistic, passionate and eager to volunteer their time for a cause; yet also apathetic, self-focused, and cynical – especially toward the church.  They are “spiritual, but not religious”, into Jesus but not the church.

January Kick Off

Friends, Our First Group Night of 2012 will be Tuesday, January 10th at 6:30pm at the White’s Home.

In the first couple weeks of December…. a group of students put on a Christmas Program for over forty 55+ folks, including leading Christmas Carols, performing an original skit and giving away knit stocking hats!… A week later ImpactU raised over $400 to help buy Christmas gifts and much-needed household items for a single, pregnant Mom and her 2-year old.  This young lady, thrust us, certainly has great need this Christmas season….    Then a week later ImpactU got to serve in a local homeless shelter by entertaining and serving 4 homeless women and their children.

Be a part of ImpactU making a difference in the area this Christmas season!

On Sunday, Dec 11, beginning at 1:00pm, any and all girls will go Christmas shopping together for gifts for a single Mom (with a 2 year old as well as currently pregnant with child #2) who is escaping polygamy here in Utah.  We want to be an encouragement to this family.  She has no money for gifts and faces an immense challenge moving into ‘ normal,’ post-polygamy living.

On Friday, December 16 from 8:30pm-9:00am the guys will serve the homeless community at a local church in Sandy.  We’re doing our part in reaching out to the hurting, lonely and discouraged this Christmas season by helping host those in our community who have no home.  We will simply spend time with a large group of individuals who need shelter for the night, encouraging them and playing music for them as well.

If you’re interested in either of these service projects, please contact Tommy at 801.502.3050.
