With the Spring Semester coming to a close with finals, ImpactU will take a breather for much of May.

When our summer schedule gets going you’ll receive weekly updates on Bible Studies and other activities.

Tuesday (April 17) Alex will be teaching

Tuesday (April 24) Clay will be sharing about his year in Chile, plus a special guest will be giving his testimony. This night we will also be joined by a group of college students from Nebraska Christian College! We’ll be meeting at Southeast Christian Church for this event.

Bowling Party This Tuesday, April 10

UofU Student Union for a bowling night, from 7:00-9:00pm.

We have lanes reserved for ImpactU only.

Prices:

$2.50/game with student id

$2.95/game w/o id

Shoes: $2.00/pair

A day, a Saturday set aside for worship and prayer

Hoping, Planning, a Spiritual ‘Crossing of the Fingers’

Will God, the God of the Universe draw near

Does He draw near? Has He drawn near before?

What does it MEAN to ask God to draw NEAR?

If a prayer is answered, delivered

Does man turn to toast? Can man be NEAR God?

The God of the Universe?

Is it possible…

What we really want: to EXPERIENCE the God of the Universe

The God who formed the earth, The God who breathed into man: LIFE!

We yearn, desire, lean towards, strive, reach out, up, anywhere for a real encounter

A documented, DOWN TO EARTH, touch and feel and smell… and see ENCOUNTER

We would kill (?) for a glimpse of the Almighty God

Not some trumped up, charismatic, safe, predictable picnic with iced tea

Not a meeting on our own terms, but you gotta know, one on HIS TERMS

It’s always on His terms.

The thrill that GOD, or whatever HE is called, that this GOD OF THE BIBLE

Would take a moment, or two… out of running the Universe and beyond the Universe

Would HE actually turn, gaze towards Salt Lake City? Towards the University of Utah?

Towards a small, yellow chapel

And kneel down, glimpse our careful , well-intentioned offering of…

An offering of harp and lyre, percussion and cymbal, voice and tears

Also including doubts and fears

Will You Come Close God, give….gently give….search in Your pocket… or backpack, ipad… offer Your Palm… to

… bless us

To forgive us

To smile at us

To give us courage

To strengthen our faith, what little faith we really have in this broken place

And thrill us.

Need a place to be quiet, still, meditate on the Bible, listen to God speak to You???
